Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Most travellers require an e-visa to enter Uganda. Applications are made online, and approval usually takes a few days. A East African Tourist Visa is also available if you plan to visit Kenya or Rwanda.

Uganda is a year-round destination, but the best wildlife viewing is during the dry seasons (June–September and December–February), when trails are easier to navigate and animals gather around water sources.

Gorilla trekking ranges from moderate to strenuous, depending on the group’s movement. Treks can last 1–6 hours. Chimp trekking is generally lighter, but still involves walking through forest terrain. Porters are available to help.

Most tours use 4x4 safari vehicles with pop-up roofs for optimal viewing. Smaller groups use Land Cruisers or customized vans. All vehicles are maintained for rugged terrain and comfort.

Uganda offers a variety—from budget bandas to luxury eco-lodges. Most safari accommodations are located inside or near national parks and provide private rooms, en-suite bathrooms, and full-board meals.

Yes. Lodges and camps routinely cater to vegetarian, vegan, glutenfree, halal, and allergy-specific meals. It’s best to inform your safari operator in advance.

Yes. Uganda’s national parks and tourist areas are safe and wellpatrolled. Professional guides accompany you at all times. Travelers should follow standard precautions and listen to their guides for safety briefings.

While not mandatory, travel insurance is strongly recommended, especially for medical coverage, evacuation, and trip cancellation. Some gorilla trekking rules require proof of insurance.

On gorilla treks, the official distance is 7 meters, though gorillas sometimes approach on their own. On game drives, guides keep a safe distance to avoid disturbing wildlife while ensuring excellent viewing.
